Passenger Dies in Cruise Ship Restaurant

A 70-year-old passenger died in a restaurant aboard the German Cruise ship Aida Stella. According to the website schiffsjournal.de the passenger suffered a heart attack in the Market Restaurant located on Deck 9. The medical team, under the command of Aida Stella Captain Volker Baumgart arrived quickly at the scene, but it was not possible to stabilize the passenger. The ship was docked in Civitavecchia, Italy when this tragic event took place.

Aida Stella is 71 304 GT, Sphinx class cruise ship operated by the Carnival Corporation cruise brand Aida Cruises. The ship departed from Palma de Mallorca on a 7-nights Mediterranean Cruise on 17, September, visiting Villefranche, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Olbia, and Sardinia. Due to the unfortunate event the ship departed from Civitavecchia with a 35 minutes delay.
